Conducted by Barry Kolman, the UWE tours on alternate years overseas during the April spring break. In the past, the Ensemble has traveled to Germany, Norway, Denmark, Japan and Greece. During the 2000 Spring Break, the University Wind Ensemble toured Australia, playing several concerts in Melboune, Mt. Beauty, and Sydney. In 2004, they performed for audiences throughout Russia and, in 2006, they toured Brazil. Membership is open to all university students, regardless of major.
