A tribute to the synthesizers of previous decades is being assembled on the fourth floor of Wilson Hall. The museum includes 6 keyboards from the 60s, 70s and 80s including an Oberheim OB-SX, RMI 368 Electra-Piano and Harpsichord, Yamaha DX-100, Realistic MiniMoog, Korg M1, and even a Theremin! Stop by and ask for a tour of the new Synth Museum!
Powell Leitch is an attorney with the law firm of LeClairRyan in Roanoke. As a tenor, he performed with Opera Roanoke in its "Kurt Weill Tribute" and with the Tallis Scholars in a performance of "Spem in Alium" in Manchester, England. He has sung numerous concert and oratorio performances including the tenor solos in Handel’s "Messiah," Bach’s "Magnificat," Orff’s "Carmina Burana" and Mendelssohn’s "Elijah."

The Music Department at Washington & Lee offers a majorand a minor in music. Music majors receive a Bachelors of Arts, choosing a sequence focused on Musicology,Performance or Theory/Composition. Participation in the Department's instrumental andchoral ensembles along with private instruction for all instruments and voice is open toall W&L students for credit.
The Department offers numerous concerts each year including those bystudent ensembles, our Concert Guild series, and Sonoklect, the new music/jazz series. Performances are held inthe state-of-the-art Wilson Concert Hall (opened in 2006) andthe Lenfest Center for the Performing Arts. Department ensembles regularly tour the United States, Europe, Asia and South America.
