The University-Shenandoah Symphony Orchestra (USSO) is a semi-professional student/community
orchestra which brings quality musical programs to the Shenandoah Valley. Professional
musicians from Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, Roanoke and Blacksburg
join local residents and advanced students in 3-4 programs a year. Conducted by Barry Kolman, the orchestra has hosted several prominent guests in the past including Robert Shaw, The Netherlands Wind Ensemble and the Solati Piano Trio of Boston.
The orchestra is financially supported by Washington and Lee University and
performs on-campus in the new Wilson Concert Hall. In the past,
the USSO has presented children concerts, family concerts, as well as classical music
programs. The concerts are enthusiastically supported by the local as well as the
university community.
Visit the USSO page of the Lenfest Center's website to view the season of performances and purchase tickets.
