Concert Guild, Lenfest and Class of '64 join together to present Porgy and Bess. Featuring a cast of 30 with live orchestra, Gershwin's Porgy and Bess will celebrate the opera's 75th Anniversary in 2010.
A fully staged production of Gershwin's masterful "folk-opera" about
an African-American community in early twentieth-century Charleston,
South Carolina, will feature such great tunes as "Summertime," "It
Ain't Necessarily So," "My Man's Gone," and "I'm On My Way."

Senior Honors Theory Presentation: Will Stewart '10
Will Stewart '10, a Music Theory/Composition major from Winchester,
TN, will present his Honors Thesis: Claude Debussy's "Children's
Corner" and Béla Bartók's "For Children."
Senior Daniel Thornton, a Computer Science and Music major from
Dumfries, Virginia, will play a varied program including Bach's Prelude
and Fugue in C minor, Beethoven's Les Adieux Sonata and Samuel Barber's
Excursions.
Senior Sarah Kim, a Music and English major, from Buena Park,
California, will play a program that features the music of Bach,
Mozart, Schubert and Rachmaninoff.
Senior Composition Recital: CJ Boyd '10 & Andy Budzinski '10
CJ Boyd '10, a Music Composition Major from Shrewsbury, WV, will
present original compositions. "Christmas Eve" premiered in the Music
for the Holidays Concert I and Concert II.
Andy Budzinski '10, a Music Composition and Politics double major
from Lawrenceville, NJ, will present a collection of original
compositions, ranging from solo piano works, to choral pieces, to jazz
band compositions. "Blow, Thou Winter Wind " premiered in the Music for
the Holidays Concert I and Concert II.
Senior Phillip Graham, a Business Administration and Music major
from Richmond, Virginia, will play a program that includes Beethoven's
Waldstein Sonata, Ravel's Jeux d'Eau, and Schulz-Evler's Arabesques on
Johann Strauss's The Beautiful Blue Danube."
Senior Piano Recital: Sacha Raab ’10 and Paul Schaufele '10
Sacha Raab '10, a double Romance Language
(French) and Politics major from Coopersburg, Pensylvania, and Paul Schaufele '10, a Business Administration Major from Dallas, Texas, will play a
program that includes Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and others.
